Diplômé d’un Master de Démographie obtenu à l’Institut de Démographie de L’Université de Strasbourg (IDUS) en 2020, Irwin Hecker est doctorant en épidémiologie dans l’équipe ERES depuis novembre 2021, suite d’une mission en tant qu’ingénieur d’études biostatistiques entre cette même date et janvier 2021. Il étudie l’évolution de la santé mentale et ses liens avec la situation socio-économique durant la pandémie de COVID-19 en France grâce, notamment, aux données de la cohorte TEMPO recueillies depuis mars 2020. Enfin, il participe au projet européen RESPOND (PREparedness of health systems to reduce mental health and Psychosocial concerns resulting from the COVID-19 paNDemic) et plus particulièrement à l’identification des groupes résilients ou à risque vis-à-vis de la santé mentale durant la pandémie de COVID-19.

Irwin Hecker graduated with a master’s degree in demography from the Institut de Démographie de L’Université de Strasbourg (IDUS) in 2020. He joined the ERES team as a research engineer in January 2021 and started a PhD in epidemiology in November 2021. He is studying the evolution of mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic and its links with the socioeconomic situation using, for instance, TEMPO cohort data gathered since the crisis’ beginning. He is also involved in the RESPOND project (PREparedness of health systems to reduce mental health and Psychosocial concerns resulting from the COVID-19 paNDemic) analysing groups at risk and resilient groups in terms of mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
